While I have not made the biggest splash on the internet, yet, I have been contributing, growing, and learning at the GOEmasons space. Navigating the technology space with some serious hands time. We have been working on internal tools, video games, applications, board games, and other fun little projects.
GOEmasons had an immediate need for my insights and observations regarding the video game industry. I have followed the industry for years. Studying its processes and trends as games were created and game companies evolved. By tracking their steps, missteps, and adding my own insights, I became the principal business analyst on the GOEmasons team.
As the BA, I helped define our products along with other product leaders and visionaries. From here, we defined a product that was ready for development, once we had resources. We create mock ups, templates, technical diagrams, logic charts, process charts and began creating documentation to aid in the development life cycle.
Once the development lifecycle began on our gaming project, I found myself working the part of a project manager. We worked in an agile manner, developing small components in an iterative fashion, in a define-the-details-as-they-come-up and test as we go environment. We utilized small scrums to keep the different product teams in sync.
Intermittently, throughout this process, I acted as a junior/support developer. I worked side by side with other programmers developing modules for different websites and applications. We touch and use a lot of big technologies here at GOEmasons. Angular, Backbone, PHP, Node.js, C++, Java, Linux, Git, and so on. We make every effort to know many tools, and pick the right one for the job. While this is all new to me, I still show up and participate and learned everything I can.
Throughout my short career, I have had the amazing opportunity to step into a fantastic project, and really bring a lot of insight to the table. More importantly, I have been able to learn a lot in regards to project handling and development throughout the product development lifecycle.
